Manage your policy
Looking to protect what’s important to you?
Just Ask Acorn and it’s done.
1. Change your cover
If you believe you may have a potential claim, we’re here to help. Please contact our Customer Care Team on Freephone 1800 446 446, where one of our experienced team members will review your policy conditions with you and guide you through the next steps. We understand that making a claim can feel stressful. Our aim is to provide clear information, practical support and reassurance throughout the process.
2. Update your personal details
Keeping your details up to date ensures we can contact you about your policy and process any payments correctly. If any of your personal details have changed, please get in touch with our Customer Care team and we’ll update your records.
What you can update
- Your name or title
- Your home address
- Your email address or phone number
- Your bank account details for premium payments or policy payments
How to update your details
Call us on Freephone 1800 446 446, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and one of our team will assist you. Alternatively, download and complete the Change of Personal Details Form or the Change of Bank Details Form from our Forms and Documents page, and return it to us by post or email at info@acornlife.ie.
Proof of identity may be required
For certain changes — such as a change of name — we may ask you to provide proof of identity. See our Proof of Identity guidance for details of the documents we accept.
3. Request a policy review
Your policy is reviewable. This simply means at certain times we look to see if the premium you’re paying is enough to keep the level of cover you have in place until the next review. Click here to learn more.
4. Proof of identity — what we need
Acorn Life is required to comply with the Irish Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) Regulations to identify and verify the identity of our customers. Acorn Life must collect one document which confirms your Proof of Identity and one document which confirms your Proof of Address. Click here for more information.
5. Assisted decision-making support
The Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 (Act), as amended, established a modern legal framework to support decision-making by adults who may have difficulty making decisions without assistance. The Decision Support Service is a new service established under the Act and its role is to promote the rights and interests of persons who may need support to make decisions. The Decision Support Service registers Decision Support Arrangements and supervises Decision Supporters. If you or someone you know have queries in relation to Decision Support Arrangements or would like to find out more information, contact the Decision Support Service through the contact details provided below.
